June 2009 Update! by Feliza Cabrera

It's almost been one year since we moved back to the U.S. from Ghana, West Africa...our time in Ghana was short-lived but very, very full!

We are so grateful for the rare opportunity to serve God and others in Ghana, West Africa. Yes, we have been busy doing the Lord's work here in Richmond, VA as part of the Pastoral Team at New Life Outreach Intl but it has not kept us from praying for keeping up with the work which many of you helped us to begin about two years ago. We dearly miss our Ghanaian Pastors and all of our Ghanaian brothers and sisters in Christ as well as the many other beautiful friends we made while living there.

I have to admit that I have gone to the Lord with my "worries" and my "hopes" in regards to the ongoing work that remains and continues without us in person. I don't want people to forget the baby churches that are there. How much they need our support!

We have kept communications up fairly well with our lead pastors in the 12 churches on a frequent basis. It's always a joy to hear from them and receive the updates on the congregations and outreaches that are taking place. The mother church continues to go forward and remains steady in numbers. A promising sign. God is faithful. I have learned to trust God with this as well. It is HIS project and what He has started, I know He WILL finish!

Plans are in the making for a return trip at the end of September 2009, Lord-willing. We are very excited about this as we have also been asked to lead in a special Spiritual Emphasis Week at the school where our daughters attended while there. This will be an exciting reunion both busy and power-packed as we have so much to accomplish in such a short stay; roughly 10 days.

We will be able to be a part of two Sunday services at our mother congregation of New Life Global Outreach and in between those Sundays meet with all of the pastors and leaders for a time of renewal and teaching.

I will be posting another blog with some areas where you can be a blessing to your brothers and sisters in Ghana, West Africa. I will also make mention of it on our website as well. God bless you and thank you for those who always ask of the work in Ghana - More updates coming soon! We love you all...
